Khasab Tour - Dubai Parks Tickets

The Khasab tour is a twelve hour long tour so the pick-up from the hotel has to be early; from 6:00 am in Dubai. The tour takes you on a dhow cruise along the Fjords of Musandam and into the Straits of Hormuz.

What are sand dunes?

A dune is a mound of sand which is formed by wind in a desert. Sand dunes form when wind blows loose desert sand behind a sheltered obstacle which then grow bigger as the sand accumulates. A sand dune is made up of two sides;

a.       Windward side

This is the side of the sand dune where the wind blows over and deposits sand material, pushing it upwards.

b.       Slip face

This is the side of the dune without wind and is smoother than the windward side.

Sand dunes are classified according to size; either big or small or according to their shapes which differ according to the mode of formation of the dune. Types of Sand dunes based on shape include crescent dunes, parabolic dunes, linear dunes, dome dunes and star dunes.

A helmet and goggles are provided for protection as well as basic training for using the quad bike. 2.       Evening quad biking tour
